Dr. Gerald Marlin Invents & Patents Advanced Dental Implant Restoration System
Our own Dr. Marlin is not only a specialty-trained prosthodontist serving Washington, DC and the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area, but also an inventor of new technology expanding and improving the field of dental implant restoration. After designing the new restoration system, he filed multiple patents on his innovations. Dr. Marlin today holds 9 U.S. patents on restoration methods.
With his treatment protocol focused on the aesthetics, function, and fit of abutments and crowns, Dr. Marlin invented an advanced dental implant restoration system designed to provide a precise fit and natural aesthetics over dental implants. He developed it because he found that existing implant restoration approaches were limited in their ability to correct for the implant angulation and misalignment commonly encountered in practice.
In addition, he developed a universal adaptor designed to allow the system to be used with any brand of dental implant, simplifying implant restoration for dentists regardless of which implant they are restoring. His unusual qualification of both surgically placing implants and restoring them, along with his experience advising technicians on implant restoration, provided the insight behind a system intended to benefit restorative dentists, surgeons, technicians, and, ultimately, their patients.
